Well as most of you know I'm Horton. First name Dave. I started doing IG in 1998 haven't been to a GWA event in a few years as college and career development got in the way I'm hoping that the Spring will be my glorious return. I was the original mad bomber who bombed at Midnight. I hope to continue to do so as well.

Hey Horton,
Good hearing from you again. I think we met at one event a few years ago. I hope you can make out again in April. If it was anything like this past event it should be fun.

Come April we are going to have quite a bomber section. The Guards can probably field 2 Riflemen, 2 Bombers, 2 Carriers and 2 Rifleman just like a proper bombing section, plus some more riflemen to spare.

Should be good. Feel free to post any thoughts or ideas you have for the Guards. I hope this will be an active forum and rekindle interest in WWI and the Guards.

Cheers!

I look forward to talking to you at the April event! Perhaps we can swap war stories! Also, What kind of modifications have you made to your bombing kit? Im just curious as to know what other ppl are doing.

Hello everyone, my name is Andrew and I am sorry I missed the Fall event. That was the first one I missed in the last 6 or 7 events out there. I hope you all had fun and look forward to meeting everyone in the spring.

I've been reenacting the ACW since 1986 and got into Great War in 2001 when I joined the Irish Guards. It's been rough on me lately as my event attendance has taken a severe beating...child number one was on the way last Fall and then John McCain decided to drop in on my high school this fall (and child number two is on the way...so the wife has been ill). Start saying prayers that I might make it back out in the Spring (I'm going through withdrawal).

Regards to all.

Hey John,
We will be out in the field kicking whenever you are able to join us. There has been some discussion about going getting people together to go back to Military Through the Ages at Jamestown in March. While it doesn't have the action of the trenches, it might be an option for you. Not to mention about 4-5 hours closer for you!

Cheers!

Hello

Hi!

My name is Scott Bellis. I have been doing WW2 reenacting with the Coldstream Guards (http://www.reenact.com/coldstream/index.html ) since 1998 and prior to that I had done American Civil War from 1991.
Found your site through the Great War Association. I have been interested in starting a WWI impression and I was hoping to get some information from you guys.

Cheers,

Hey Scott,
Are you involved with Ernie out in Chicagoland? If so, I have done several events with you guys for Rev War Brigade of Guards. Also, several of us do 5th Ranger Battalion for WWII. If you are going to be at Fort Custer MI this weekend with the Coldstreamers come look us up.

If not I would be sure to answer any questions you may have about WWI reenacting and the Great War. It is quite an experience and unlike other eras, it provides more opportunity for a full immersion event given the fixed location of the site.

I would be more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have via email, but if you make it to Custer, be sure to stop by and say hello.

Cheers!
