Vendor List

Vendor List

Postby GGBomber on Wed Jan 21, 2009 4:32 am

Since there has been some talk here about vendors recently I went ahead and compiled a list of all the British WWI vendors that I know of and added a description of what the general consensus is about them. Enjoy! Feel free to add if I missed anything!

Sanjay Suri's uniforms and web gear. Located in India, He makes a lot of different things. Lower quality, also lower price. You get what you pay for.

What Price Glory
A number of items including uniforms and gear at a reasonable price. Reccomended for uniforms.
Edit 5/20/09: Be careful when ordering any gear that uses brass fittings. When compared to original gear these repro's didn't even come close in terms of durability and sturdiness.

Great War Militaria
Offers original and reproduction items. Arguably the best uniforms made but expensive.

Lawrence Ordinance
Their uniform and web gear department. Good source for cap badges and other insignia as well as uniforms and gear.
Edit 5/20/09: Make sure they have what you want before ordering, one of our Guardsmen cancelled his order after 10 months of waiting.

http://www.ima-usa.com/
International Military Antiques
A lot of really cool unique stuff. Check this place out!

Military History Workshop
Located in the UK and expensive. Mostly gear related.
Edit 5/20/09: I have seen a few of their products and they are of very high quality.

Schipperfabrik
Good source of gear including SBR's and the P08 set, and reccomended for each of these items. Makes a quality product.

http://www.sutlers.co.uk/
The Sutlers Stores
In the UK and expensive. Apparently the products are mediocre, buyer beware! They do have alot of unique items though.

http://www.civilwarboots.com/
Civil War Boots.com
Hand made footwear from the Civil War - WWII

http://www.tentsmiths.com/
TentSmiths
The one stop shop for all your tenting needs

http://www.pflco.com/
Prairie Flower Leather Company
THE BEST Helmet liners! I will stake my re-enacting reputation on these guys, they make great products!

http://www.reenact.com/index.htm
Castle Keep Reenactor’s Supply
Lots of odds and ends including insignia, buttons, and cap badges.

http://www.tommyspackfillers.com/
Tommy's Pack Fillers
High quality reproductions of various WWI items. Not sure what their current status is, E-mail before ordering!

Tarrago Shoe Shine
Our source for Blanco, which will clean your web gear. Order 2 tins of Antelope and 2 tins of Olive, mix at a 50/50 ratio ad this will be enough for a full web gear set!

Soldier of Fortune
Based in the UK, source for Blanco and a few other odds and ends. No known reviews.

Pass in Review
Lots of buttons, insignia and badges

Nice list Roe! Thanks for posting.

I am totally with you on your ratings. Does anyone else have any others to add that are good WWI vendors?
