Per new recuit Grenadier Guardsman Chris Gomes:

"I spent a year in Iraq and didn't get as beaten up as I did last night.
I cut cable, went on a trench raid, got captured, got beaten up by the Boshe. I was almost shot as a spy. What's next."

That is great! Despite the abuse, I hope Chris had a good time. It will be good having him out again.

I hope his feet have recovered.

Now this is a good one. This comes from a conversation between Guy Gormley of the 5th btn aif and myself at my first event.......

Guy-(really really Intoxicated) yada yada yada..... Pig farmers ***** (something negitive)

Me- Hey fuck you! my dad is a pig farmer! (this is said while im cutting a peice of cheese with a jack knife and pointing it at guy in a very italian way while talking with my hands)

Guy- (Drunkenly pulling out a webely revolver from under his great coat)
Count on a dego to bring a knife to a gunfight!


Omg I almost lost it right then because the untouchables is one of my favorite movies of all time.

On the big raid for the day...
got thru the Jerry barbed wire and into the big Jerry trench...
ran thru the Jerry trench with Commander for the day Tom Price,
until we saw some JErries.
Threw a grenade...
They retreated and closed "a door" behind them...
We ran up and found it was locked.
Tom said "ok, everybody back out bombs will be in coming."
American Sargent said, "who F_CKIN' put a door there and who decided to F_CKIN' lock it."

General Tom, cool as a cucumber says, "You lock the door when you take a sh_t don't you? Jerryjust did the same."

I almost p_ssed myself laughing."
