I highly recommend this book. It is the personal story of a Grenadier Guardsman who served during the Great War. It is a good read and full of insight into service in the Guards Regiments during the war, from enlistment to the Armistice.

I agree, this is one of the best books I read on the day to day life in the trenches. I came away with a new understanding of life in the trenches.
