If anyone tries to get you to "volunteer" just reply that a) You aren't in my chain of command b) I'll have to check with my section leader first. Remember, we're Brits...we don't do anything without orders. :D

That is a great response to give! Too bad if I can't ever "find" my section leader to ask him if a can volunteer.

Guys-
Since im real stressed from this last semester of college, Im really excited to come out again (and this time with all my own gear!) I'll try to be out early in the week, if i feel like skipping some classes, we shall see, but either way ill be there. There was a mix up with the bayonet I ordered, however, and it still hasnt shown up in the mail, if it doesnt show, does anyone have a spare I could throw in my webbing? Id appreciate it, see you lads soon!

Good standard reponses to missing gear when questioned by "a Fezzy wig" (AKA an Officer):
- "I lost it playing cards. I hope to win it back tonight."
- " I left it in no mans land."
- "I loaned it to the Jerry that I stuck it in. I am planning to retreive it after morning formation."

Ohhhh yes after much anger and frustration with trying to get the day off I finally got work off and I will be making an appearance on Saturday for the event! I am locked cocked and ready to rock with 380 grenades 400 rounds of ammo, 18 rifle grenades for field testing and a few cool new things like my new shovel and the new grenade boxes. I cant wait for Saturday!!

Cheers!

Great photos. Not the same as being there...but close. You guys looked great. However, you look warm too. Fall events are always more enjoyable -- better to freeze than to fry in my opinion. I did one GWA event in July...one and only one and I swore never again.

Anyway -- nice grenade boxes -- trench looks great-- [sigh] :(

Grenade boxes did look extreme in the trenches. It was a hot day, but not as hot as the German trenches got! I have to say that that German unit had the most realistic trench out there. I am glad that no one got hurt out there. Great job to all those that responded quickly.
