Hey Guys,

I found an outfit in the UK that has a liquid form of blanco,WW1, WW2, and white. www.sofmilitary.co.uk/reenactors/index.asp
Have you heard of this stuff?

Nice find Ben,
It looks like their WWI Blanco is a new addition. I don't know of anyone who as tried it, but the color looks about right. It is a bit expensive at about $15 a bottle.

I would be curious to hear what people think of it that have used it.

Excellent news. I look forward to hearing about the results. I have noticed that over time the shoe polish method is fading a bit and will soon require another coat.

Maybe this stuff will last longer.

Hello,

I recieved the blanco yesterday and was up till the wee hours blancoing my gear! There was just enough in one bottle to coat and touch-up one set of webbing (minus the large pack) The color compares favorably to an original belt I own (pea green) Easy to apply as well....Dampen the webbing with a wet sponge, and rub the blanco in with a wet toothbrush. Once dry, it doesnt rub off. I would reccomend buying two bottles as the large pack would use half a bottle by itself. I will post pics when I get home from work.

That is good to know. I need to re-blanco my webgear soon, so I may give it a try.

BTW, Does anyone want to coordinate a work party up at the site?

There was talk about other groups going up towards the end of September. Maybe the 19-20 or 26-27.

What do you guys think?

I know we would have a lot of weeding/mowing, some digging in the trenches (maybe even hire the backhoe), and some revetting. We wouldn't necessarily finish it all in one weekend, but we could get a good jump start on it.
