Hello,
With 2014 being right around the corner, has there been any talk of going to France for any commemorations? Has anybody here gone over for any events, living history or just as a tourist? I would be interested to hear your thoughts, stories, etc

I would love to go over to tour the battlefields at very least. Steve Walsh went over for the 90th Anniversary of Mons and participated in the Mons march. I am sure he can till you in with a lot more. He has great stories.

It would be really fun to coordinate something like that.

I'm sure units in the UK are planning events and it would be a simple matter of contacting them and taggind along. I've checked out the "Khaki Chums" and they seem like a dedicated group.

That is a great call Ben.

Steve and others have made some good contacts with guys over in the UK during their Mons trip, and a few have even come over to attend our events in the past. I am sure that we can work out something. Whether it was just a battlefield tour or involvement in an event, I think it would be tons of fun either way.

BTW, on a totally different note, harass Old Scratch to come out for WWI. He has continually expressed an interest and I think he would like it. Besides, it is a good excuse to give Son of Flash another nickname!
