Bunker/Trench updates!

Postby GGBomber on Thu Apr 23, 2009 2:59 am

Guards,

After what was a great event there has been some buzz about some improvements to our sector. This includes one of two things;

A. Build a bunker
With an increasing number of guardsmen at events and a small area to keep our possessions there has been talk of constructing a bunker. So far potential sites include the back comm trench, which is closer to our sector but also would be considered "in play" and could be attacked (As a side note, throwing lit pyro into bunkers is not allowed by GWA regulations, so for those who are worried about grenades going off in the bunker it shouldn’t be an issue). Another potential location would be back towards Gunga Den, which would be a farther walk to the trenches but out of play. The cost would be $2000-$3000 total, which breaks down to $250-$300 a person. This reserves you a bunk and the benefit of having our own Guards hotel on site!

B. Improve the trenches
Another option would be to improve our sector of the trenches. This includes anything from adding more sandbags or reinforcing the parapet to improving our dugout section. Please comment on any ideas for improvement!

Either option we choose will also require some handiwork by all guards’ members! It's not fair to let one or two guardsmen work on all this by themselves, so everyone is going to have to chip in one way or another.
So tell us what you think! All ideas and opinions are welcome!

After Steve takes and passes his PE exam this week, we will try to sit down and draw up some plans for a bunker. We can get a few options, consider them as a unit, and then send our proposals to the allied trench master.

It looks like it will be about $300 will buy you your own bunk. The catch is, after we break down we will have to boost the price to $350 to cover expenses of finishing the bunker, so it would be better to pay up front. Remember guys, we will need the money up front, so we have the cash to get the wood, dig the hole and get things started.
