The Fall Newville event is approaching fast. Has there been any new thoughts or discussions to make this event the best yet?

I am all about it. I have been spending most evenings polishing boots, brass and blancoing every bit of webbing in sight.

I was up at the site this past weekend and we did some work on the house. We were able to take care of some mowing before the rain poured down.

It looks like the new addition to our trench sector is looking good, but it has settled some.

We will have to run some barbed wire, do a bit of weeding, and we will be in for a good weekend. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

30 sometin' days and counting

as to my thoughts about the upcoming event...

1) two words come to mind...(Bin watching that show "Sand Hog" for idea's LOL) sandbag and shale dirt... i'm showing my true engineering preference for civil engineering...

a)gotta build up the outer front wall with just dirt. This will allow us to add 4 more layers of sandbags and have a proper standing para-pit and wall. The benefit is a Listening Post right in front of out trenches.(2 picks/bag holders and 4 shovels =1 hour)

b)if we have the numbers and the energy only (figure two teams of 8)
To Dig out our dugout. 2 hours to dig out and fill bags with salvaged dirt. work in 15 minute shifts. Then dig down deeper and further back. Dismantle old look out post in process. Build back with newly filled sand bags. Will result in, straighter walls and sandbag seating. More space. Should be able to put 8 men in under cover comfortably. total job 16 guys = 4 hours.

2) fire needed to burn up our debris.

3) dying to know how our version of Kew Gardens looks after Mr Trolan tended to them so caringly at the last event. Impressed the SH_T out of General Chipmonk.

Some of my thoughts...

Everybody getting ready? Only a few days to go. Looks like we might be in for some rain this weekend, so bring those ground cloths!
